Today Year 13 History students had the exciting opportunity to visit Hampton Court Palace.
The original Tudor Hampton Court Palace was begun by Cardinal Wolsey in the early 16th century and Hampton Court Palace saw use by Henry VIII and three mid-Tudor kings and queens over a decade, all with very different aims and agendas. Students attended workshops to evaluate the stability of the monarchy and the extent of the Religious turbulence under King Edward VI, Queen Mary I and Queen Elizabeth 1.
Exploring the palace buildings themselves, alongside contemporary sources, students analysed elements of the mid-Tudor crisis through the uses of this key location during many significant challenges and victories for Tudor monarchs.
