We are delighted to celebrate some fantastic GCSE and vocational results with our incredible first cohort of students at The View @ East Street. After a couple of years of uncertainty and disruption to learning, coupled with other challenges our students may have faced and overcome, they should all be proud of what they have achieved this exam season.
Despite these challenges, all our students have worked incredibly hard over the past year regaining their confidence in their ability to learn within our unique provision for Post 16 and Year 11 students. Many students started new qualifications in year 12 and completed these within 8 months.
Our Year 11 students who joined our ViewPoint programme this year from other local schools also achieved incredible GCSE results. All students who were able to study and sit exams at our Centre achieved incredible results and have a destination ranging from moving onto A levels at different schools, Level 1,2 and 3 vocational courses at colleges and a number have decided to stay with us to join The View @ East Street to continue with their studies at Level 2.
We are proud to be able to celebrate the grades on results day that we believe are a true reflection of what our students have been working towards over the past year with us and are a solid foundation towards their next steps in education or training.
This has been a truly fantastic cohort, who we have seen grow both academically, emotionally and socially. From each student having a personalized curriculum linked to their needs and aspirations:
There are too many individual successes to mention and these are not just about achieving high grades for our students, however special congratulations go to some notable performances: Dennis (Grade 8 Maths, Level 2 Merit in Applied Science and Level 2 Distinction in Public Services), Leonora (Grade 9 Citizenship and Level 2 Distinction in Public Services), Olivia (Level 2 Distinction in Public Services), Shannon (Grade 6 in GCSE Citizenship and Level 2 Distinction * in Public Services), Giulia (Grade 6 in GCSE Maths and Level 2 Merit in Applied Science.
Having the right place to learn and with the support throughout their studies from a fantastic team of staff has certainly impacted these incredible young people and we are excited for our students as they embark on the next chapter of their education in the Sixth Form, college or apprenticeships.
