After two postponed trips and the debacle of P&O Ferries no longer operating across the Channel, we finally managed to get 82 keen and eager students to Pinzolo and our hotel Chalet Fiocco Di Neve for our much-anticipated ski trip.
We had incredible weather with very good snow conditions and fantastic food throughout the day to replace the calories we burnt on the slopes. On the first day students were separated into ski groups and met their instructors where they would develop their technique, skills and bravery so that by the end of the week they were all able to move around the resort freely, quickly and without falling over! Our instructors commented that the Hillview students were the most polite and lovely groups they had worked with all season and cannot wait for us to come back again next year.
Students tackled blue, red and black runs with great skill and consideration for each other and it was wonderful to see them becoming friends across the year groups. As well as challenging themselves on the slopes, they also took part in quizzes and other activities across the week organised by the caring and supportive staff that accompanied the group.
Finally, congratulations to all of the students on developing their skiing and self-confidence over the week and to all who received the Hillview Ski pennants for their excellent skiing each day. However, particular praise goes to Amber Bowers for being nominated as the Queen of the Slopes 2022!
We will be launching the 2023 trip soon so keep an eye out for the opportunity to put your name down for the next trip.
