A smooth and effective induction into Sixth Form life will enable you to achieve or exceed your goals. All applicants to Hillview Sixth Form are invited to attend an Induction event towards the end of the academic year in order to be fully prepared to make a confident start in the sixth form in the autumn term.
During the Induction event, you will be able to experience taster sessions in all of your potential subject choices. Experiencing these subjects first-hand is vital in order to ensure that you have made the right choices.
Learning in the Sixth Form is very demanding, and before you start your Level 3 classes you will take part in interactive skill development workshops specifically designed for our academic and vocational courses. This will support you in making the transition from study at Key Stage 4. These sessions include Approaching Applied Subjects, Communicating Ideas, Perfecting Performance, Argument & Analysis, Planning a Project and Using & Analysing Data and are all vital in ensuring that all students are fully prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
