
What will I study?
The RSL Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma for Music Practitioners (Performing)
provides an exciting opportunity for singers and musicians to develop their
practical musicianship and creativity in conjunction with units which provide a
strong foundation to progress to higher education and develop a portfolio career.
Core units
Rehearsal Skills & Live Performance (Externally assessed)
This unit showcases the student’s live performance skills and their capacity to
take ownership of the entire performance process, including planning, rehearsals, performance, and evaluation.
Planning for a Career in Music (Internally assessed)
Students will become familiar with the processes associated with effective career planning and will align/link their career aims with their study for this qualification.

Composing Music (Styles)
You will develop a practical understanding of a range of compositional methods and techniques associated with different musical genres or styles.
Composing Lyrics
You will develop skills in writing effective lyrics for music, explore lyric writing devices and develop an understanding of the key concepts of working to a brief.
Leading Music Making Activity
You will learn to plan and lead music making activity in a variety of situations
Studio Sound Recording
You will develop skills in effectively planning for and recording music in a recording studio environment.
