
What will I study?
Students will develop an understanding of the concepts and techniques used in
managing a business. Students are introduced to busines in Year 12 by looking at the themes of Marketing and People and Managing Business Activities, helping to build knowledge of core business concepts and applying them to business contexts to develop a broad understanding of how businesses work. During this year topics such as the marketing mix, entrepreneurs and leaders and financial planning will be covered. In Year 13, the course develops greater depth of knowledge and understanding, investigating more complex business
information around the themes of Business Decisions and Strategy and Global Business, requiring students to take a strategic view of business opportunities and issues. The A Level itself, is made up of three 2-hour papers, the last of which has a pre-release which is industry focused students will research this in advance.
Where will it lead?
There are many business-based university courses available. Business students often progress onto Business Management courses or specialise in an aspect of business such as Marketing. They may also choose to pursue an apprenticeship degree programme.

A Level Business is also a valuable qualification for any student aspiring to reach management level in the public or private sector.
