Future Pathways for Students
Future Pathway is the new name given to the Careers Education Programme here at Hillview School for Girls. You will be able to find a range of resource, and support to preparing you for your future in learning and work, whatever pathway you take towards your final destination of your careers goal.
Right from the start of Year 7, all the way through to leaving in Years 11/13, you will take part in careers related learning in mentor times, subject lessons, assemblies, trips etc. You may have visits from guest speakers at universities, colleges, apprenticeship providers, different companies during assemblies and lessons and be given the opportunity to take part in a range of activities or given futures information in a range of contexts.
Examples of Future Pathways activities here at Hillview in recent years include:
Here at Hillview we use the Career Pilot
A system to track and support your progress from year 7 to the end of your time here at Hillview. It allows you to keep a record of your areas/sectors you are interested in, research into training pathways as well as conversation with mentors, and the Future Pathways Teams to enable a personalised approach to your careers journey.

Help with CV Building
In addition to sitting down with the Future Pathways Team to help with developing a CV that employers will notice you could also look to some of these great sources for ideas and inspiration.
Work Experience
To meet the Gatsby Benchmark 6 student may have an opportunity to undertake work experience as part of their course as a trip, one off experiences or as a long-term placement. There will also be a chance for all Year 12 students to spend a week in July on work experience. Please refer to our school policy for further information.
