We are delighted to build upon the success of last week’s A-Level results with a fantastic set of GCSE grades achieved by our Year 11 students. Our students have continued to work hard, both in person and remotely, throughout their 2 year courses which were significantly disrupted by the Covid pandemic and they have been rewarded with fantastic results. 89% of students secured Grade 4 or above in English and 70% in Maths, with more than two thirds across both subjects at Grade 5+.
Our personalised and broad curriculum has once again supported our students in achieving their Pure Potential with 91 students (52%) achieving the top grades in one or more of their subject areas, with a total of 196 Grades 7+. Congratulations to the students and staff in Food and Textiles where half of all students achieved Grade 7+. More than a quarter of students achieved a Grade 7 or above in Art (38%), Music (33%), Health and Social Care (32%), Spanish (29%), Ancient History (26%), Dance (26%) and Drama (26%).
We are proud of all our students and their achievements but particular praise should go to the academic achievements of: Grace Lapham (3 Grade 9s, 7 Grade 8s), Carla Spooner (2 Grade 9s, 6 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s), Eve McDonald (1 Grade 9, 4 Grade 8s, 1 Distinction, 4 Grade 7s), Molly Brown (2 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 6, 1 Grade 5), Chloe Brazier (2 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 5 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 6), Erin Smith (1 Grade 9, 4 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s, 2 Grade 6s) and Hannah Hounslow (1 Grade 9, 2 Grade 8s, 5 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 5).
