Evangeline “Evie” Atkinson Year 10, started playing rugby in March 2021 for Tunbridge Wells under 15’s. Having found her position, at Number 6, blindside flanker, she was chosen and voted to be captain for this season (21/22).
She led her team to almost winning the league, but lost by one point (bonus point) and the last 16 for the National Cup (losing to the eventual winners).
Last Monday she led her team to win the under 15’s Kent Cup (pictured), then on Tuesday she received an email to say she had been chosen to play for Kent under 15’s. Having done the trial in April and been watched at various matches.
These are huge achievements in only 14 months. She’s hoping to pursue her career and eventually play for the Red Roses (England women’s team).
