A brilliant A-Level Results Day

As our Year 13 students sat their very first public exams back in the spring, we are delighted with their performance and the successes they have achieved, particularly considering the various disruptions to their education since 2020. They performed highly across a broad range of qualifications,excelling in some of our more traditional subjects such as Classical Civilisation (70% A*-B), Spanish (100% A*-B with 66% attaining A*-A) and Geography and Film Studies where 66% secured grades A*-B. Our creative subjects continued to shine brightly: Fine Art (90% A*-B with 55% A*-A),Dance (38% A*-A), Drama  (27% A*-A), Graphics (100% A*-B with 62% A*-A),Music (75% Dist*), Photography (73% A*-B with 40*A*-A) and Textiles (81% A*-B with 50% A*-A).Students also obtained top grades in their applied qualifications, securing an average grade of a Distinction, with a special mention to our Health and Social Care Diploma students who all achieved at least Distinction*/Distinction and our Childcare students who attained 100% A*-B.

 

Special congratulations go to: Molly Frances (A* in Business Studies, A* in Dance, A* in Geography), Alex Phillips (A* in Geography, A* in English Literature, A in Spanish), Sophia Harhalos (A* in Fine Art, A in Classical Civilisation, A in English Literature), Maisie Williams (A in Classical Civilisation, A in History, A in Government and Politics), Louisa Thomas (A in Business Studies, A in Geography, A in PE), Charlotte Edwards and Julia Marcinowska (both achieving Dist* Dist* in the Health and Social Care Diploma and Dist in Applied Science).

A particular mention also goes to Rebecca Stalberg (A in Drama, A In Sociology and B in Media Studies), Sophie Healy (A in English Lit and Lang, A In Geography and B in Drama), Ayisha Cil (Dist* in Business Applied, Dist in Musical Theatre and Dist in Travel and Tourism) and Annabella Morbin (A* in Dance, A In English Lit and Lang and B in Business Studies) for the exceptional progress they made in all their subjects. This accolade also goes to Molly Frances, Charlotte Edwards and Julia Marcinowska. 

We are also thrilled that the vast majority of our students secured their first choice university courses in a wide range of subjects including Oxford, Edinburgh, Durham, Exeter, Nottingham, Bristol, St Andrews, Leeds, Loughborough and Newcastle

 

Headteacher Hilary Burkett commented: “I am immensely proud of all the Hillview Year 13 students this year. They are an incredible year group who have demonstrated high levels of determination and perseverance during their studies, and have achieved some fantastic results. Whilst I know a few may feel disappointed that their results have been impacted by the national grade boundary adjustments, I hope that they are able to celebrate and be as proud of their hard work and achievements as we are. Our thanks and appreciation go to the parents and teachers for their ongoing support of their child/students”.
